REEF TOUR MERCH !

A friend offered me a great opportunity to go on tour for a few days with 90's brit surf band REEF. This consisted of three days on the road with the lads stopping at London, Wolverhampton and Nottingham. I looked after merchandising, selling T's n CD's and escorted the VIPS about the three venus across the country. This was a lot of fun not to mention gaining some inside info into the behind the scenes of the old music biz. Overall it was a great experience and lads if ya need any more work over the summer be sure to give me a shout ! A few photos below of what went down

I was expecting some thing crazy to happen and this really doesn't disappoint , the out come less than a hundred people stepped foot inside the warehouse. I hate to say i told you so... enjoy

Been busy recently putting together a clothing company that caters to the admirers of dirty bass line music and the culture that goes with it. Its part of a self negotiated project where we were asked to pick a medium that we would really enjoy over a 14 week period and i've been itching to get a clothing brand along with innovative packaging and site going for a while. Here's a lil snippet from the mission statement just to get a background on the brand.

"Whilst retaining every stitch of quality 'Halfcut' provides a fashionable clothing line that represents the scene for the scene, its about documenting a collective of people who share the same enjoyment... Welcome to the family"

Here is a Video Collage/Montage i have done using archive footage and stop frame animation to highlight the contrast of media we are fed on a daily basis. On one side the reality of the economic situation, credit crunch and recession. On the other young peoples disregard for this reality as the consumer chase for glitz n glamour to reach 'celebrity' is far more attractive. My perception of how we should supposedly be saving and how i witness young generations slam the plastic in order to reach their desired outcome.

Originally it was planned to go to London for this Mansion party event but this has now fallen through due to the fact nobody wants to travel back at 6 in the morning on trains that make four changes thats right four that is no easy ride home for the eroded brain of the night befores debauchery. More work for UNI, i took the mixed media illustration route and based my project about the current economic situation. Me being a student i can't really complain as i am unemployed but i sure know how it feels to have no money.... Back at my mum's for x mas NO more noodle sandwiches and a fridge packed full of christmas treats!

Brief; Waitrose is planning to open 300 convenience stores across the UK similar to M&S's Simply Food stores. With the expansion plan, Waitrose is looking for a branding agency to design the identity of this new offering and roll out the designs in the 300 stores.

Just a few pic's from a recent road trip to Dam. The funniest thing about this road trip is that it was thought up and executed in the space of about a week, we drove from my house to the euro tunnel managing to get a blow out resulting in lloyd doing a formula 1 style tyre change. From the other side in Calais we drove east past Belgium just north of Luxemburg on our way to Germany. Luckily thanks to certain members map reading abilities we were able to steer ourselves back on track arriving in Amsterdam a little over 10 hours late ...... What a trip wouldn't change the outcome for the world and as for Tom Tom's screw you !

I got my travel on over the weekend and made it down to the UK leg of Volcom's wild in the park competition at Revolution Skatepark, Kent. Ended up in the final which was a pleasant surprise after taking one of the worst slams of my life. Well done to Adwah, Daryl Dominguez and Harry Lintell who took the 1st,2nd and 3rd places and should be heading over to Sweden in the summer. More on this event when i locate some footy....

Much to mine and Laurens disappointment the gig was cancelled and rescheduled for tuesday 19th of May. This didn't stop us making the most of what LDN n the big smoke has to offer. Stella and pub quiz's mixed in with the bright lights of soho was a warm blanket to soften the blow of driving from my Uni halls to the front door of Fabric. More info on the Stones Throw next week
